Well the weekend was very dramatic. Unfortunately we fought a bit, which soured the mood a little. But on the sunshiny side of things, it was a lovely weekend.

We got manky Logan Hungry Jacks for lunch on the way there, went up to the room and had a nap. We exchanged presents for our Anniversary of Meeting, which was Wednesday last... She had made a scrapbook for me! Filled with all of our memories, photos... it was beautiful! She also bought me a couple of beautiful knives.

We got lost trying to find the place I'd planned for dinner... but it was a fantastic meal of oysters, calamari, halumi, and prawns when we did finally get there. Parked back at the unit, and I set up a picnic blanket on the beach, and we cuddled, and talked... and then we went for a swim in the ocean in our black dresses. It was so much fun!

The next day we got up, and had late breakfast at Pancake Paradise, and then got the shuttle into Good Vibrations festival. Danced, and listened to a narcisstic band called Chromeo... The Presets were awesome! Then it started to rain.... and then pour. FatBoy Slim's decks shortcircuited, and everyone crowded into a tiny shed to stay out of the fierce winds. We were already soaked from the rain previous... and decided to brave it to catch the bus home. We skirted the mud as much as we could and skipped and jumped in the puddles, laughing. I felt like a six year old after the first rains of the season, running and squealing, kicking the water into everyone that passed.

Nice hot shower when we got home...

Sunday was clean-up, swimming in the pool, and making fried toast, because the toaster was broken in the unit. We drove home to go to Tropfest, only to find it finishing. Disappointing, but I'd half expected it. We had sushi, lay on the grass and looked at the stars... and then had Cold Rock ice-cream.

After little spats of fights throughout the weekend, we made up that night. It was beautiful.

Tomorrow night: Yes Man with Ena... Thursday I'm doing girly night with movies and drinks with Manda... Saturday probably Scarlett... Sexpo in there somewhere too

Mardi Gras is coming up! Eeep. AND the start of uni... capital EEP!

Well in updates, my Black Friday went well. It rained, I went for an interview at an outdoor cafe... which seemed very positive... I really thought I had the job. Then, having our Moonlight Cinema session rained out, Ena and I camped out in the living room. She cooked dinner for me and gave me chocolates and port. We drank muscat and got a little tipsy, cuddly and sleepy. Watched a movie and then went to bed.

Valentine's Day was going to be paled in romantic terms; I worked, and Ena cleaned her house. So instead, we headed to CI, where we experimented with suspending each other from the ceiling. We gathered quite an audience, despite our awkward tinkering, and not-so-sexy discussion of how not to get a wedgie while still supporting the hips and groin. It was a great trust thing though, I must admit. We did our bit on the St Andrew's Cross, and I tried a few different tools hanging from the cage walls. As we were about to leave, a girl asked me to whip her. I agreed, we went into a semi-private room, (Ena watching) and then Ena and I went home.

Turns out I didn't get the job. I found out yesterday by email. I was so disappointed. It would've been great; 3 days a week, working on a really interesting project with a lovely, friendly woman as my boss. It was based at the UQ campus, and it would've lasted until the end of my degree, giving me part-time work in communications (albeit not directly science communication) and the experience to show on my CV. But from the tone of her email, it sounded like the decision was taken out of her hands... They hired an employee from within CAST to "prove themselves" using the project. She had given me such a positive impression, I was pretty sure I had the job... and even in her email, she said that the decision did not reflect her assessment of me, and she would look forward to working with me, if another opportunity arose. I'm hoping that means that something is on the cards very soon. *crosses fingers*

This weekend is going to be great! A whole long weekend with Ena at the Gold Coast, Friday shopping and romantic dinner, Saturday, sleep-in (maybe pancake palace brekky) and then Good Vibrations Festival to dance away to, Sunday, more sleeping in, and then TROPFEST!!! and probably our fav Japanese restaurant, Ginga, for dinner.

I can't wait to try out the things I found at those cheapy stores... hehehe.

Grumpy and PMS-y... ergh I hate people at the moment. So annoying. Stupid work.

But getting more money is good for more holidays and festivals! I'm going to see The Importance of Being Earnest with Ena and her housemate Wednesday. I love Oscar Wilde. Friday is Moonlight cinema night too!

My little cousin has been staying again after another operation to his eye (poor boy), while his mother went for a holiday down the coast. Mum has been bitching constantly about it, and I'm just over it. I don't mind looking after him, he's such a good boy. Although he has been a little whingy...mostly because he has to lay down all the time to make sure his eye heals well. I'm also getting a little clucky because of all the nurturing I've had to do with this boy. *sigh*

Tonight is the catch up of the girlfest girlies. Should be a good night. Hopefully I won't get too irritated or moody.

Ciao for now!
