crazy *loading* times over
This entire week has just been non-stop partying. So tired. At least I had some time during the day to rest. Ok, I'm kinda lazy so I'm gonna copy and paste the most part of an email to kierah here so you can all know whats goin on.
Well, I've been partying every night at Duchesne College. Mon night was Ugly Party, Tues Punk Party, Wed Semi-formal dinner, Thurs Tropicana party, Fri Ignition rock concert. Plus things on in the daytime. Hardly had time to check email and sleep.
Duchesne is so cool. (btw its pronounced dooshane) We've heard all about the woes of the other colleges with their intiation stuff (its so funny, we laugh at them :P). The Grace College girls have to wear signs on their shirt with their fresher name, their real name, their town, their course etc. When they get in trouble they get an extra sign on them to remind them for next time. They have to serve their execs (student executives) brekky dinner and lunch. St Johns have to do and say embarrassing things at random. Its funny watch. Kings are slaves to the execs as well. We don't have to do anything. Basically, its just 'let us know whether ur comin or not'. You can come and go as you please. If its overnight u just sign out so they know that ur not in the building if it burns down. You don't have to tell them where ur goin.
I haven't started uni as of yet, only Orientation, which has been so fun. I've met heaps of ppl (can never remember half their names), and I just love the atmosphere. Theres about 150 girls at Duchesne, and most are freshers (first yrs here. Some are doing third yr uni, but only just moved into college). We've been doing most of our functions with other colleges (usually all-boys) but we've had brekkys and lunches with the co-ed and all girls. The punk party was huge, bcos it was Duch, Kings (all boys) and St Johns (co-ed) so there was so many ppl. That night wasn't the best though, bcos the Kings were just drunk wankers really :P. Kings and St Johns hate each other, so the whole aim of the Kings boys was to get a St John's girl, bcos they were being protected by the St John's boys, so it was a kinda pay-back, and apparently a big ego thing (not that the Kings needed it *rolls eyes* their egos were compensating for their brain :P) to get a St Johns girl. So us Duch girls were 2nd choice. Not so good, when by that stage they were pretty smashed. lmao i must sound really bitchy, but I'm just joking, really. Not all Kings blokes were bad, it was just that the seniors (the student executives who are lookin after us basically) were encouraging that egotistical behaviour. Lol the St Johns were sayin that blokes who went to Kings 'go in as gentlemen and come out as assholes'. But the politics don't mean anything to Duch. We get along with anyone. We're apparently supposed to be allied with Grace's College (yes ur namesake Gracey-lou) and both enemies with the Women's College (both Grace and Womens are all-girls). But no one really cares, we all just talk to each other. St Leo's is our brother college(all boys), so we've had several functions with them. We've had breakfast on separate occasions with St Johns and Cromwell, which are both co-ed. The other colleges like Union and Emmanuel are quite big, and supposedly don't really mix much with the other colleges with dinners and functions and stuff.
We have a dance too!! Every year there is a freshers (first yrs) dance which we have to learn, and then do a dance-off with the other girls colleges. Ours was to Casanova. Its so daggy, but its heaps fun ay. We've also learn some of the past fresher dances becos the execs do it at every party when the particular song comes on.
And Gracey-lou, you'll never believe this. The first day, I found out there was a girl staying here who was from Darwin too. It took a while for me to actually meet her. Her name is Grace. She's from DHS and doin a B. Arts. She's very quiet, but her fashion is so funky. So, Grace, I haven't been able to forget you with the Grace College and this other Grace. Argh now its starting to play with my mind.
Anyway, the Ignition concert was last night. SPIDERBAIT!!!!
yeah. well. It was pretty good after a while. I didn't like th slow rock, and no one was moving so it was a little boring. But everyone got into it towards the end. I went with one of my new friends, Liz from Canberra. We saw Grace and a couple of her friends, but we lost them somehwhere along the line. It finished at 10pm and we headed back to duch and stayed up talking til about 11-12.
I think I'd best go. Tired.
Tell me what ur all up to.
YAY!!! At Duchesne now!!! Woohoo!! lol okay, well I'm kinda sleepy atm bcos we have had a streak of bad luck... First night there was a black-out, so we were in the dark, with no fan or anything. The power came on about 5am. Then a six-thirty wake up call and a jog around the grounds. Last night (we had an Ugly Party which ended about 11:30pm) at 1am the fire alarm went off, and we had to evacuate the building. So I am lacking sleep due to brekky at 8am today and having had no time to sleep in the day.
But the ugly party was so much fun!!! we had a blast dancin around and keepin away from all the drunk blokes :P.... anyways i have little time to explain it all, but i will tell u all a funny story once I've finished emailing etc and getting up to date.
Catchas
All is well, and I have a social agenda!!!! lmao I got mail from Duchesne today saying about all the parties in O' week!!! Theres an ugly party, a punk party (methinks i shall wear the same thing
) a semi-fromal dinner, a beach/tropical party, breakfast in the city, and Wet and Wild and Mooloolaba excursion!!! YEAH!!!! One week, I'm gonna be so busy
.
Fun fun fun! Anyways, I found out the rules for the college too, its on their website. They're not too bad for a Christian all-girls college. Hehe... sneaky stuff
... lol...
Anyways, i was gonna do a thing about planes and annoyances, but dinner is nearly ready so ill do it later ...
Alrighty, 9pm tomorrow, my house. Party ppl!!!!!!! lol... right prob not a lot of ppl are comin because i have had the worst week. ARGH! I hate deaths. And funerals.
Anyways, invite ppl if I haven't already. A bit late but hey, ya get that.
Ok, so update on life in so far. Emailing buddy in Brisbane called Eleanor, who is so cute
. Had funeral on Wednesday. Helped Mum with Wake. Went to Renae's farewell that same night... ummm basically just looking forward uni. I've applied for a study program where you go on field trips and get tutored by a scientist in your field... it sounds pretty cool...
boredness..... for now.
Saw Love Actually today (yay, finally got my dodgey DVD workin). I loved it!!! Sad and happy and feel-good. Then I started getting depressed
. Eh. It was kewl anyway.
